Guided tour of the Pavarotti-Freni Municipal Theater
The Pavarotti-Freni Municipal Theater in Modena gives the public an opportunity to discover its secrets, history, production spaces and architecture, thanks to a calendar of guided tours for citizens and tourists.
What you can expect from this experience:
- You will go on a "behind-the-scenes" tour of one of Italy's most treasured theaters
- You will learn about its history
- you will visit different rooms including the lobby, the stalls, the stage, the ridotto, and areas usually not accessible such as Tailoring and Set Design Room
The Municipal Theater of Modena was inaugurated in 1841 as the Theater of the Most Illustrious Community. Throughout history it has preserved its beauty intact and has not undergone any significant structural transformation. Its current appearance is the result of a careful historical-conservative restoration that has restored it to its original splendor by bringing it up to modern safety standards. The acoustic excellence, value and elegance of the artifact make it one of Italy's most valuable theaters. A Theatre of Tradition, it is one of the most productive opera houses nationwide and annually offers one of the richest schedules in the region with opera, ballet and concert seasons from autumn to late spring. The theater's set design workshop is one of the oldest in Italy and the only one to be preserved in its historic location. Scenes are painted and built here and exported all over the world, from China to the United States, Spain, Korea, France and Japan.
