Monument to the tortellino
The monument recalls the legend of the birth of tortellini.
Alessandro Tassoni, an important local writer, tells that one day a beautiful woman, (people said that she was, indeed, goddess Venus) came to the tavern “Corona” in Castelfranco.
The innkeeper, charmed by her beauty, spied her through the keyhole while she was undressing; he was struck by the sensuality of her bellybotton and dediced to reproduce it: thus was born the tortellino.
