These natural environments - a total of 460 hectares - have been created since 1994 by numerous farms on previously cultivated land.
The provincial wildlife protection oasis of the Mortizzuolo valleys and the adjacent areas, located in the eastern sector of the Municipality of Mirandola, currently constitute a vast area, one of the largest in the Emilia-Romagna plain, characterized by numerous wetlands. permanent and temporary, small ponds, hedges, rows of trees, groves, stable lawns with patches and bands of shrubs
On the nearby area pedestrian paths, cycle paths, observation towers, information and info panels have been prepared to enjoy the area and to know the peculiarities of the environments.
